This is Carolina giving up WAY, WAY too much. Even if you subtracted Haula from this deal, it would still be gross overpayment by Carolina.
With Byfuglien taking time off and Laine in no hurry to re-sign, the Jets have a glaring need at RD and they have an unhappy RFA who would rather play somewhere else with better linemates. Those factors put them in a position to be the ones to overpay on the trade and/or to add conditional picks.
