I think if there was room, he'd make it. Mike be best to season for a year in AHL and slot into a Top 4 role next year.

I see him in Rockford. He just turned 19 years old and while I'm excited he's a Blackhawk, he still needs a lot of work defensively. Just continue his progression 1 step at a time. If he's crushing it in the AHL then we can make a decision, but let's make sure he can do that first.

I think it's the best course of action. Shore up his defensive play, hit the weight room, win the Calder in 2021.

This is very accurate. Kubalik will get the nod. Perlini, Nylander, Sikura, Wedin will all rotate in and out of the lineup until one or two prevail. The key is who needs to clear waivers and Perlini and Wedin do which would suggest they have a leg up.

Imo, playing Nylander on your 3rd line is not going to work well. Nylander is a highly skilled player but he doesnt do much more than create offense. He doesnt backcheck, play the body etc. When he was playing in Buffalo, he was very good when played alongside Eichel, Reinhart etc and hardly noticeable ehen he wasnt. Unless he truly changes his effort level, he wont do anything on the 3rd line

Maybe swap him and Kubalik? Kubalik looked great playing with scrubs yesterday
