Yeah you won't be getting Myers for that lol. And he'd want more after his ELC.

If acquiring Philippe Myers was that easy, it would have already been done. It would cost something like Bracco, a defensive prospect NOT named Sandin or Liljegren and perhaps a mid-round future draft pick.

Okay so lets say the leafs trade Bracco and a 3rd 2021 pick for Myers and a 2020 5th. Think that’s a win for the buds?

It will take more than that I think from the Leafs to get it done. I would want to see what Mac Holowell can do with the Marlies this season, but something like Bracco, Holowell and 2021 3rd pick should do it.

If Myers is good enough for a starting position, he's not getting that little money and the Flyers aren't trading him for so little.
Forget getting into a bidding war with Barrie. Should be good value Dmen available, two of them totalling 8m.
Why are folks so gong ho trading Hyman? Replacing him with Agostino money saves just 1.5m. I'd rather keep Hyman if possible.

Hyman is due to be grossly over paid when he hits ufa, leafs should get a rate of return before then

Pffffffft only fans can comment? So bias is your only tool to evaluate players?

No, but I don't know Addison well and their roster needs. I think Hyman is worth a 2nd rounder+ a bit personally.

I would expect Hyman camp to ask for at least $5.5 million AVV. If they can bridge the cap amicably, I would think it takes something like $3.5-$4.5 AAV for a long term deal. Problem is, the Brandon Tanev ridiculous contract will definitely be brought up as a comp. So if a to-this-point 4th liner with 24 career NHL goals is getting $3.5 million, what does a Hyman get on the open market? I guess we shall wait and see. I don't believe in the philosophy of "you might as well trade him because when his contract is up it will require gross overpayment to bring him back".

Hey @palhal, the Flyers are pretty jammed with a young and talented D-group, so there will be some odd men out come the start of the season. So, the Flyers COULD listen on Myers, but they could also listen, or prefer to deal Hagg and/or Morin. Myers is a cheap contract, right handed shot and big, so he makes a lot of sense as a Leafs target. I am just not sure the Flyers listen unless the Leafs can blow them away, and it will take more than Bracco and a mid-to-late round draft pick to do that.

Ya seems pretty solid from just reading up on him. If Leafs could get him it'd definitely be a great add for the future d core.
