why you get a 2nd line C and W a RHD and possibly eliminate a potential problem in Laine

Not really, thats an interseting offer. Over rating Laine and under rating Nino. Haula is damn good too. If Faulk extends, Its a good conversation starter
Canes take on the risk in laine getting back to years 1 and 2 laine and Roslovic figures it out. Jets get 3 known solid pieces that help them win now bc their window is fast closing

Alright, well for starters, Laine is a generation goal scorer. You can't deny that, the proof is there. People can come on here and say he's lazy or his contract is becoming a distraction and so on and so on, but goal scorers like him don't grow on trees. Roslovic is an up and coming young player with a tremendous upside. He will end up being a #2 C for the Jets at some point in the near future.

Now onto Carolina...Haula missed almost the entire season last year, he is not a #2 C. Faulk has 1 year left on his deal then he would be out of Winnipeg, Niederreiter has had 1 good (part) year with Carolina, and has been quite inconsistent other than 1 good year with Minny. So value-wise, it's just not there for me.

Beside the fact you are taking on roughly 13 million. You are essentially trading Laine and Roslovic for 3 years of Neiderreiter. Faulk and Haula are free to walk after this year. Personally, I would take Roslovic or Little over Haula as my 2nd line center. I see what you are thinking, but honestly every thing about this trade doesn't work. Good on ya though for looking at different options.

no bc you are not taking into consideration at how good Nino is defensively while putting up very respectable to offense. 20g, 50 point shut down wingers....Laine had the same point totals as NIno last year and cant play a lick of Defense. thats the point of why its an interesting idea especially since Nino has 3 more years at 5.25m aav, thats a solid solid contract

But like I said you are under rating Nino and over rating laine. Its not a super sexy deal but those would be solid additions with cost certainty, especially for a team that has cap issues moving forward

Ur going off laines stats of last year of a career low so far and still put up 30 he’s top 5 in goals since joining the league and avgs like 16 mins of ice team playing with a line the doesn’t even click his entire career I don’t think I’m overrating laine at all and to also throw in roslo to the deal I’d rather take the chance on the younger more upsided player at 2C then haula

Yes the risk is in laines potential/rebound....you assume he goes back to what he was like in years 1 and 2, but is that a for sure thing? Roslovic is the same thing, there is the potential of him being so much more that is what is the alurring part....but can you wait and hope that he takes the next step too?

Hes like teh Avs Jost, you see all the tools, all the potential, but why hasnt it translated to more? If the Jets were looking for cost certainity and the pieces that will round out the roster to try to win a cup in the next season or 2, then there is some merit to the package. However with Trouba gone, Myers gone, and Buff maybe out the door....Jets have a chance to freshen up the roster to reopen that competitive cup window wiht a well designed laine trade.

Personally it would be more temping if you can get another one of their dmen instead of Faulk.....for example Dougie. You have to pause and think about it at least
