There would be room to negatiate, this way Laine has 2-3 years to prove it that he is who he say he is, between 4.5 and 6 million similar to Boeser. Connor gets his long term deal as a winger for 7 - 8.5 million on a 7 or 8 year long term deal

agreed but not if he goes 8 years. 6 year at 7.25 is fair imo

Way too much for a rental of Faulk and too little AAV on the deals but something like this could happen.

Probably more like Roslovic for Faulk or something like that. I suggest Roslovic because based on the way training camp lines are setting up it looks like we're going with:

Perreault Scheif (Laine)
Copp Lowry Wheeler
(Connor) Little Ehlers
Bourque Letestu Appleton
Chibosov

So Roslovic is pretty blocked unless he can move to play Center. I'd probably see what Columbus would give me for him first being a home town kid and them needing top 6 players and probably work something out there but I wouldn't trade former 1st round pick + 2nd round pick + guy we just signed for a rental that's best days are behind them.

Letestu looked really bad in the first preseason game and Roslovic looked pretty good, trading Roslovic for Faulk is a terrible idea.

I actually agree with you completely. I'm just trying to say with Vesalainen coming too that unless Roslovic moves to play Center he could be traded for a good RHD in the event Buff retires and clearly what we have isn't cutting it on the back end. I feel bad for suggesting Ros for Faulk. That would be bad.

I wouldn't get too ahead of ourselves with Vesalainen just yet, he could very well be a bust.
And if Buff retires this team is in no way a contender so trading a young talent like Roslovic for an established dman is a dumb idea, better off to just wait for Samberg and Heinola.
