rangers say no--- brodie doesn't fit their age range. They are building a young team, not buying old vets that are pending UFAs

Hes a pretty solid 3rd line forward with great PK ability dont sell him short, i only really want to move him if we can shift Backlund to 3C with a 2C upgrade

Fair enough, good point about the core age, if they are out of it though would Broidie on a retained slavery not be a good piece to flip at the deadline for assets? I won't pretend to know much about the Rangers and their likelihood of competing this year.

I think the idea of his PK being great is out to lunch, he killed with Lindholm or Frolik all year who are elite, spent too much time high in the zone so he grabbed pucks that were getting cleared hence his goals being inflated, if you watched him kill he would cover the weak side D very tightly and take himself out of the play essentially covering the least dangerous guy on the ice. I would love to see our 2 C upgraded but I think that Ryan is a great 3/4C and Dube can fill in better than Jankowski in every aspect of the game.

regardless, DeAngelo has another 4 years of control, and the rangers aren't blind to his talent. He will eventually be the odd man out, but it won't be for a pending UFA.

Jankowski should have more value than this. He put up over 30 points as a 24 year old #3C. You may not like his game, but I think there would be a GM out there who would pay more than moving back 2 rounds in the draft for him. I think if the Flames can't get at least a second (or equivalent value) for him then they may as well hold on to him.

Man Jank is being sold way too low here. Maybe he didn't have a great year last year but he has value in trade still.

Jankowski should likely be on the wing with someone who can drive play. He is where plays go to die in the offensive zone, I would say he was a large part of Neal being as unsuccessful as he was.

Second year in the NHL and the verdict is rendered? I dunno. Just like people with Laine, I think your using a small sample size to categorize a players career. 31 goals over the last two seasons, one being his rookie season sure doesn't look like a player where plays go to die. Maybe he's simply just not good enough to carry players who are looking for others to carry them.....

If 32 points is a low season, I'd love to see what he's capable at his best.

No verdict rendered, that is what I have seen so far, I think his ceiling is probably a 40 point guy and I think that he will only get there playing on the wing, the best part of his game is his shot followed by pucks bouncing off him and in. If he could play with a C that drives play and allows Jankowski to be a trailer to shoot or just stand beside the net to tip and bury garbage he is an effective player, only thing now is that there are plenty of LW on Calgary and a C in Dube that could replace him very easily
