Description

Because Carolina has no cap...they would need to free up some cap space in order to sign Laine. This move gives them over 9 million to play with. Carolina is also a team that can afford to give up a defensemen. Laine has a higher ceiling than Niederreiter although Niederreiter can contribute well offensively and comes on a fair contract. This moves keeps both Winnipeg and Carolina competitive. It gives Winnipeg room for next year's free agency and Carolina some good additional prospects for their system.

as much as I like pesce the Toronto 1st is going to be in the late 20s and nino is up and down last few years. If you think laine is 35 to 40 goals a season for another 10 years then you do it
