Laine Trade Would WPG make this trade

Created by: hockey216
Team: 2019-20 Columbus Blue Jackets
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 18, 2019
Published: Sep. 18, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
For the record I don't think WPG will ultimately trade Laine. However if they did I think CBJ would be a good trade partner and this is a deal I think would work for both teams particularly if Buff retires.

No, with the turmoil jets currently in, probably looking for more team control players, and or a abundance of picks. Window of playoff success, getting closed for them imo

Swap Murray for Werenski, maybe they don't lose your number.

you probably have to add a player like texier for the jets to take that trade.

so in my opinion it should be a) laine for Murrray, top 5 protected first, texier
or b) laine for werenski straight up.

you can say what you want but he is the most promising young player on our team we aren't going to give him away for free. Esecially with all that we have been through this offseason and recently.

As you cant afford picks, it would be a prospect, Savard, Bjorkstrand and Wennberg for Perreault and Laine

I do think Werenski for Laine is pretty even.

He is an offensive talent, but he is a liability in his own zone, is immature and streaky. I don’t think there is going to be a line to try and acquire him, particularly with him needing a contract that is roughly $7,000,000 per. Again though I still don’t think he is traded as his value is low right now.

Not even close, Werenski is an elite top 2 d pairing guy. Ducks just fetched a first and top level prospect for Montour last Feb. Werenski is worth at least that if not more. Hard to see CBJ giving up Werenski for Laine.

Ok but Guhle is not Laine. the 3 years Laine has been in the league only 5 players have more goals than him and 3 of them are by 1 or 2 goals. Now CBJ might have other reasons for not wanting to make the trade but skill wise they are very close to each other.
