Classic over value of player and situation. There is a world where Svech is a better overall player than Laine when their careers are over. Not to mention that you are asking for Dougie and a 1st and only giving Niku and a 2nd. Let alone the fact that the Canes wouldn’t have enough cap space to even sign Laine if they wanted to make this trade.

Laine wants close to $10 million per season, Carolina doesn't have that much to offer him.

Laine is only 2 years older so thats not an issue....Also, Laine had one less goal than Sech had points in their rookie season...I think that tells who is a better player. hence the difference between Hamilton and Niku. As for cap space, thats fair...didnt really think of that.

So the Jets have obvious locker room issues and you want to add Hamilton, sounds like a good plan... ?

Laine also got a top line role immedietly, I give you bonus points if you knew who Jordan Martinook or Lucas Wallmark were 12 months ago, Svech is the better all round player, Laine is the better goal scorer, this isn't worth it for Carolina, their cielings are too similar

Laine has never played on the top line except for a short while....he has mostly always played with Little....parts with Lowry and parts with Scheifele...
