I know giving up a 1st sucks, but worth it. If want to put in Sandin instead of Dermott that's fine. I actually value Dermott higher but either way seems a fair trade to me. Jets fans please feel free to opine.

You will not get enough goals out of Laine to make up for the difference in defensive prowess between him and kapanen.

The leafs can't afford another highly paid forward. They need some cap space for defense and goalie.

I disagree. As I said, it just means need to run the young guys on D. No resigning Barrie or Muzzin. Goalie is already on roster for a few years.

Just outscored the lack of D prowess.
