Assuming Karlsson is healthy, I would not want to run into this team in the playoffs

clownshoes response. NJ get a 1st, a conditional 1st (guaranteed 2nd), the best prospect in SJS's pool, and a project prospect for hall. zaitsev for melker karlsson is a plug-for-plug trade long-term, probably.

this is exactly the kind of deal NJ will want to make to move hall as a rental

Ottawa got Brannstrom (A top 10-15 prospect) for Stone and that was with an extension already in place. Hall, who wants to test free agency, will get less of a return than that. In that case, Merkley, who is at least a top 30-40 prospect, a 1st and 2nd (probably late), and another B prospect should be more than enough.

"Hall, who wants to test free agency"

Source? All I have heard is that he loves NJ and wants to stay, but both sides have their reasons for holding out on a long term deal.

I don't think this makes sense for Sharks until they make sure he resigns and in that case, I dont think Sharks will have the capspace
