If they don’t win a cup in that span, they’ll probably get pretty close.

They need a true number one center, a true number one d man, and by the time they’re ready to compete for a cup, they’ll probably need a goaltender too. Best of luck.

As an outsider looking in, with admitted lack of knowledge of much of the NYR organization, there are a couple of weak links/question marks that I have.

1) There's a #1 truly elite center on pretty much every team that wins the cup. The only one I can really think people may argue is Ryan O'Reilly/Brayden Schenn, but I've always thought ROR has been criminally underrated. That being said, is MZ really a #1 truly elite center? I'm not sold at all, but the wingers he'll have for the next few years might lift him to that level once Kakko gets his feet wet and accustomed to the NHL.

2) Need solid #2/#3 centers for depth. I wouldn't be surprised if a trade NYR make in the next couple of years is for a savvy vet at the #3 spot. Who takes the #2 spot and runs with it? Not sure there's an answer there yet.

3) Does Georgiev fill the shoes of Hank in a suitable fashion? Does he have elite #1 game-stealing goalie potential in him?

4) Can Kravtsov replace the production of Kreider quickly and efficiently, once the latter is moved out of NYR?

The pieces are there, but only the future knows how they're going to pan out. Will be fun to watch NYR for a while though, as they've positioned themselves well.

For that to happen, one of chytil/Anderson/Howden will need to develop into an elite #1 center

In this context you’re talking about him as a number one goalie on a cup winning team. He has yet to play a game in North America. I’m not going to hold my breath. 23 year olds that haven’t played in North America are busts more often than they are studs.

Panarin contrac to pretty bad in 3 year in the futre. They will be in cap hell. That contract will be impostable to move so, you will have a 11m 33 year old Panarin who plays on the fourtth line and the rangers are will be trying to remove that contrct.
