Quoting: Wqrrior
The Florida trade is the only one that works based on the current market.
Toffoli is highly overvalued by kings fans who seem to not consider his down year. 34 points last year significantly drops his worth. Let's say recovers and goes on pace for 45 points again, I still think that ask is too large. Urhuo has been good from what I hear. I'd estimate the return to mimic that of Charlie Coyle, and assuming boston, probably something like Bjork/Zboril plus a 3rd/mid round pick.
Carter, though I think the return is doable, definitely wouldn't be going to a cap strapped hurricanes team. He'd need to be retained for any offers in general.
Martinez to TB again makes sense, especially with the retention, except I think a 2nd is more "on earth" with a decent end prospect being returned.
Lewis to COL... They signed Bellemare and have loads of young centers coming in, the fit isn't there (though the value is right)
I hope my points are fair and reasonable. This is a good thread and has clear thought into it, I thought it deserved more than the "lol no" that most posters put on here.
I appreciate your feedback?
The Toffoli return would only happen if he has a crazy good year like I believe he will. He had over 200 shots last year and so many opportunity he just couldn't put the puck in the net. If he did, he probably would have gotten 60 points.
You're right about the TB trade, although at the deadline teams typically over pay at the deadline and considering the fact that the 1st round pick will most likely be in the late 20s and Martinez's resume in the playoffs I don't think the value is too far off if you really think into it. Who's going to help you more on the top line with Hedman, Cernak or Martinez?
Lewis to COL would make sense because he is a 3rd line caliber RW. He hates playing center. I love him on the 4th line and I know a lot of teams would love to have him on their team in that role.
As far as Carter goes, Kings could definitely retain. Let's just hope he has a come back season.
Like I said, I appreciate your feedback and your comment is much more respectable than some of the other ones here
