What would Hamonic cost

Created by: TrueNorth
Team: 2019-20 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 20, 2019
Published: Sep. 20, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Calgary will need to shed cap to sign Tkachuk to a long-term deal. Hamonic or Brodie would be the likely candidates to move out. Hamonic has expressed desire to play for his hometown team in the past. What is fair value?

Genuinely not sure value-wise what CGY would want in return. I do however think next summer he is a lock to sign in Winnipeg.

You think the Flames would take a third for him? tears of joy

I think they would target Roslovic or Vesalainen in order to turn a #3/4D into a developing middle 6 forward. Obviously a package like that would be dependent on an extension being in place, and they could include a mid pick to account for the age differences.
Hamonic (team friendly extension to age 34/35 in place) + 2020 3rd = Vesalainen/Roslovic?
I could see them going as high as a 2nd with the pick, but they did give up a lot to get Hamonic, so I expect they may value him more than some other teams in the league.

Dont think a 3rd gets it done and the Flames need him right now.
Hopefully he signs in the peg in the offseason

Whoa there big shooter. Duchene got less than that on an expiring UFA contract. There are only a handful of teams in the league who can help Calgary with cap space. I agree that a third is light but please remember that it COST Toronto a 1st rounder to unload Marleau's contract to create cap space to resign Marner.

Are you 12? Marleau was a washed out 40 year old with a 6.25M cap hit for a full year.

Hamonic is a 29 year old top 4 D with a cap hit of 3.8M!

A 3rd?? You are the guys over the barrel with no RHD and 2 RFAs you need to sign. Hamonic would fetch a late 1st at the deadline easy but you want him for the full season for a 3rd. Man I shake my head sometimes on this site.
