the summer is complete

Description
kravtsov to start the year in the AHL is something i do not like.. figure a trade will happen now with the rangers under the cap with everyone signed.. teams no longer have the same leverage of rangers being potentially over the cap with deangelo.

Preferably Namestnikov or Fast

Fast is a pending UFA that the rangers can fill the void left more than Kreider, it's not that i don't like him, i just think these two are the most replaceable. Strome is RFA which is why they should hold onto him.. it's not like he'll get a huge pay raise over 3.1m. A 2 year 3m extension should keep him, but 4m is not unbearable for the next two years (before we have to pay kakko/fox/zibanejad/kravtsov).. if anything he'll be fodder for the expansion draft

My feeling based on your post is that they won't keep three goalies up. That really doesn't make sense. I believe that with the way Smith played the other night warrants him straight to the AHL. He was absolutely atrocious. McKegg is good! I wish he was our fourth line center tbh. I agree moving Fast may have to be an alternative if we don't want to get rid of Kreider or if we can't find a trade fit for Namestnikov or Strome. This team has the chance to be something special!

Like the description states, I don't like Kravtsov beginning in the AHL.. he has a very bright future ahead of him, but if Shestyorkin and Rykov get sent down, they may send him down too. Nothing against him, they'll just have to build up the value on the people they wanna trade-- sending them to the AHL doesn't do that
I think McKegg could fill the Fast role-- i'm sure we can send off Fast for a 3rd rounder (maybe get our conditional pick back from Carolina?)

I don't think those are apples to apples. Shesterkin gets sent down because of Hank and Georgie. Rykov gets sent down because he's injured and missed all of training camp and preseason thus far. I do hope to see some of Rykov and Shesterkin this year in the NHL though, and I'm sure we will. Thanks to some Gorts wizardry, we have the cap space to keep a healthy 23 man roster all season

I don't think Kravstov plays all 82 games, but he belongs on the NHL roster, playing ~60 games as long as all go well. We already know what Strome and Vlad can do; let's see what Kravstov has to offer

Rykov has Euro out clause which is why i think he should be 7th defenseman (i have him in minors instead of smith at the moment.. can he really be worse than smith?)

Shesterkin belongs in AHL to get adjusted to the ice and to get more playing time.. Hank will play 40+ games this year, Shesterkin could get 40+ games in the AHL at least with another 10 in the NHL.

Kravtsov belongs in the NHL-- he just does, i know it's preseason but we haven't had a forward that stretches the ice like him in a while.. i'm sure it'll bite the rangers a few times him jumping out early but so far he looks like he uses his hockey sense to only go at the right times. The moves he tried to pull of in the first game didn't always work, but he's still learning how to do them against nhl players.. i'd rather have him try and fail then fill is spot with someone like Fast.. i think he can definitely help Andersson have a breakout season on the third line.. Will he play 60 games? possibly, i think he'll probably sit 10-20 of them.. but he has too much talent to potentially waste away if hartford is terrible again.

if the team doesn't make any trade before the season starts its going to be really interesting to see who gets left out. if i had to guess i would say Boo doesn't make the team with Mcgreg, Andersson and lemieux splitting games on the 4th line.

does Rykov clause kick in rite away? because in the past I've seen many russian players out clauses kick in around 20-25 games. could be a good plan to start him in hartford until he gets use to playing on the smaller ice.
