Zero chance he makes the team. He still has a long way to go but he could end up being a steal imo. Needs to work on his speed

No fan organization goes berserk over a prospect in pre-season than PIT fans haha Legare will need at least a year in juniors and at least a year in AHL before hitting the NHL. This isn't to say he isn't good, he was a steal in the 3rd round, no idea how he got there, but he still has developing to do.

This is 2020-21. 1-2 years of growth and he should be up there tbh. His shot is already at NHL Level

Yeah I know but I bet he will still need at least a year in the AHL after juniors. And actually, it looks like he has to spend at least 2 more seaons in juniors, as he won't hit the 4 seasons or 20yo mark by next summer. So next summer it's either NHL or juniors, he can't go to the AHL. So do you really think he'll be NHL ready straight from the weakest CHL league? Highly doubtful. Probably looking at least 2 years of juniors, but most likely 2 years of juniors then 1 year of the AHL.

He's already had two years in juniors, but I agree he isn't there yet. He is close, his shot is NHL level, his skating needs work. Since the Penguins signed him though, he isn't eligible to play in the AHL now until he is 20, so that likely won't happen. He will spend a 3rd season in Juniors and if he doesn't make the roster next year, he will have to spend a 4th season there. He doesn't turn 20 until Jan 11, 2021...so he won't be 20 before the Sept 15th cut off date next year.

For most prospects I would agree. But it's his size. He's a big young player. He's listed at 206, he's bigger than that.
Most prospects need to gain weight, he doesn't.
He needs to work on his skating, that's the only thing holding him back IMO.
Does that happen in 1 year or 2, it might take 3, I don't know.

But that is the only thing holding him back.
We aren't talking about 160lb prospect here. He looks 215 range.
