I agree! And they are in great situation with their current contract. They will have money to sign ufa next season to help the young core. Like the blackhawks have done with hossa and campbell back then.

Ideally they'd still find a new home for Ryan. If he can put up another season like last year that becomes much easier. He only has 2 more years after this season, and if they retain salary, they should find a taker If he stays healthy again this season.

I don’t see any team taking 2 years of ryan even with salary retained. With 50% retaining he still is at 3,6 millions. If he is traded ottawa will have to take back a bad contract. Maybe a swap with vancouver for loui eriksson.

If he's healthy he's well worth 3.625mil imo. Someone would bite.

Not without taking back money! Team that would be interested are all tight under the cap. Team with space would take it but with a compensation like a draft pick or a prospect

Yeah you take some money back, but we're not talking about Eriksson, Lucic, Okposo etc. Bobby is a much better player, and it makes no sense to downgrade that hard for marginal cap savings. I also would take retained salary off the table if it's one of those guys. Maybe it's a contract like Hornqvist or Steen or something.

Ryan add a bounce off year but he was terrible the 2 years before so he is in the lucic,eriksson, okposo category. He play top 6 minute with ottawa and manage only 42 point thats not great number. Ottawa will likely be stuck with him.

Bury him in the minors? Ship him to Istanbul. Tell him to go to the CHL for conditioning... anything1/1!?1!

Sens aren't in a situation financially to pay a guy 3mil to not play in the NHL. they don't have that luxury.
