Because you assume that Ekblad as more value than laine?? And on what you have based your observation, to came with that conclusion. Because last time i check ekblad isnt the players he was supposed to be. He isnt a top 25 defenseman in the league yet despite behind paid like one. Is defensive play is very average and he doesn’t show leadership that he was supposed. As a florida fan i really like the team in place but i don’t think that ekblad is the true defenseman wee though he would be when he add is tremendous first season

No thanks on ekblad, Id rather meet laines ask and gamble, over ekblad contract where the jury is still out, and I would say 2/3 million higher than it should be.
