not even close. both laine and connor are better then RNH, i cant imagine you would trade RNH for a #4 defenseman and a bad contract

I like Nurse a lot, but Russell is just a bad player on a bad contract. Not close IMO

Nurse would be the Jets best defender with Byfuglien out. Not ideal with him being a left hand shot but other than that I can't see the Jets not valuing Nurse. I think the Oiler's would absolutely need to add something else to make this trade work but I'm not sure what. Jets seem like a team that is going to hold a grudge with Laine so I would at least be phoning to see what exactly they wanted.

Edmonton would have to trade out some contracts in order to take on Laine or Connor. Russell contract is real bad and probably a deal killer but maybe the Jets could use him after losing Myers and Byfuglien?

Morrisey is better and Edmonton would have to add Bouchard to this trade and even then I don't know if it works.

they will probably like him but laine is such a good goal scorer that it wont be worth it. you would have to take out russell and add probably bouchard or a good winger prospect

In what way is Morrissey better?

Also, Bouchard will probably score as many points as Laine while playing a more important position, so that's a non-starter.

He is better defensively, Nurse has more offensive upside but hasn't gotten there yet, so I give the slight edge to Morrissey.

The second part of your reply is just dumb. Laine is and always will be the superior player to Bouchard.

Nurse has shown his greater offensive upside already: over the past 2 years he's 11th in the NHL scoring at 5v5 for defensemen, tied with Victor Hedman and Seth Jones.

http://naturalstattrick.com/playerteams.php?fromseason=20172018&thruseason=20182019&stype=2&sit=5v5&score=all&stdoi=std&rate=n&team=ALL&pos=D&loc=B&toi=0&gpfilt=none&fd=&td=&tgp=410&lines=single&draftteam=ALL

The only reason his point totals lag is because Klefbom gets most of the 1st unit PP time. Nurse stepped in when Klefbom was injured earlier this year and the PP did better so it's now his spot to lose.

[Edit: even still, he's 43rd in the league for all strengths scoring, tied with Tyler Myers, Brandon Montour and Ivan Provorov. Notable "offensive defensemen" that are bihind Nurse in scoring: Faulk, Hanifin, Slavin, Hampus Lindholm, Fowler, Vatanen and Brodin.]

Laine will score more goals, but I highly doubt he'll be a "superior player" to Evan Bouchard. To quote Dom Luszczyszyn:

(Laine's) already wretched defensive game deteriorated further as he carried a team worst among forwards 42 percent expected goals rate as a result. His 39 percent in the second half was a full 2.5 percentage points worse than the team’s next worst regular... If he’s not scoring, he’s not working and that’s the problem. It’s all fine and dandy when he is, but when he doesn’t, the holes in his game become extremely clear. It’s not just defence either as he’s become less involved on offence too, with his play-driving ability there declining, as well as his individual points percentage.

Laine is far from a complete player, and 50 points in an 82-game season certainly isn't out of the question for Bouchard.
