If the Sabres didn't have a future 1c lined up in Mittelstadt I'd be inclined to agree. But this is a team blessed with prospect centre depth.

Are we really certain Middlestadt has 1C potential?

Eichel is elite, there's a reason he was drafted where he was and you don't trade that away even for wingers like Connor and Laine and I'm a Jets fan.

Eichel and Risto for Laine and Connor might be able an even trade but not all those other additions by the Jets. Would leave the Sabres with no real known # 1 or 2 centres.

Eichel isn't traded for anyone in the league...except like McDavid, McKinnon and Barkov if they were going to even accept.

I mean sorta. We have eichel. Mittelstadt and cozens were drafted high enough. Asplund is progressing (although i would like to see more counting numbers if im being honest). Lots of ifs, but its not a barren wasteland. Just questions for now. And no, in no way am i moving eichel.

Mcdavid, matthews, barkov, mack. Somebody roughly his age that is a franchise center. It would have to make sense of course.
