Deal is confirmed. Bokk looks like an excellent player and although Edmunson is not nearly as flashy as Faulk, I like his defensive game way way better. In my opinion, Canes won this deal and it's not really close.

Pretty puzzling move unless your privy to the contract talks re: Pietrangelo and the Blues FO feelings about Bokk. I'm not a big fan of this. We traded Shatty because we didn't need another RHD getting starved of ice time. So my guess is they try somebody on their offside; but we had good balance on D before the move... pretty puzzling

Bokk is pretty sick, but it seems like they could have gotten more imo, especially with an extension in place.

Good take here...Bokk seems like the prize here for the Canes. We have a great pipeline, but was desperately thin for right shot wingers

Bokk is a favorite of mine. I guess the Blues thought the big picture would be fine without him, but he has massive upside. I'm gonna cry a little, but mostly because it seems like Faulk would only be extended if STL is planning for Petro to walk.

I think Bokk became expendable with the emergence of some bottom 6 guys last year and now Kostin is looking like the player they wanted when they drafted him.

@A_K was Bokk in STL training camp this year or did he stay with his SHL team?

Stayed with Rogle in SHL. Came over for prospects camp in June. He has a laser shot and some work to do off the puck. If he puts it together, he's a top-six PP guy, maybe like a Pastrnak at the very top-end of his upside.

Sounds exactly like what the Canes would have been targeting...thanks man.

Faulk gets a lot of crap TBH...he’s a great locker room guy. He also had, IMO, his best defensive year last year. Was arguably the best defenseman for us in the playoffs last year. He had a faction of the fans against him here in Carolina - mainly because he, Cam Ward, and Skinner were the main guys here for so long without making the playoffs.

Great trade for the Canes. They exchange UFA's and get a right-handed forward first-round pick with tremendous potential. Faulk is clearly better than Edmundson, but the drop-off from Faulk to van Riemsdyk is not as great as the improvement from Fleury to Edmundson.
