Too many holes across all lines. For one, none of those centers really standout as a true 1C which is a problem. Domi may be coming into his own, but he's still not a 1C IMO...be a good 2C on a lot of teams though. Danault is a good 3C on a lot of teams but not so much as a 2C. Poehling is interesting. Kotkaniemi IMO was rushed, he will be a special player.

to be a 2nd center you need to hit 60+ points ? Danault is a 2C on a average team at center ex : CGY BUF MTL DAL DET OTT CAR CBJ MIN WPG ARI LA VGK

Danault beat your top Center in Draws and Wins last year for the record finishing 9th in Faceoffs taken and 7th in Wins.
(Toews finished finished 4th in FO taken and 3rd in FO Wins )
Toews is a better Scorer obviously but Danault a Legit Center Claude julien keeps saying plays just like Bergeron
when he arrived in BOS before he took control of his development moving him off wing aswell

Danaults a legit #2 on any contending Team or on a team like MTL he's #1 by proxy

Domi is growing as a faceoff player but i fear with Shaw gone that's stalled because
he was a huge part of Danault and Domi's jump to Center , without him it doesnt happen so quickly .

Domi could become a True #1 but he'd need Drouin to cover him on Faceoffs which isnt the worst thing in the world
but a true #1 can handle Danault volume at Domi's production rate.

if only we had 1 more year with Shaw like Danault did as it made all the difference .

Sorry, but Danualt is not better then Karlsson and Staal. So you have 11 teams left out of 31 that would play Danault at 2C and everyone of those teams besides Dallas and arguably WPF who is in bit of disarray is rebuilding which tells you something.

Danault > Stastny Danault > Staal

I respect Danualt and I'd love to see in the 3C on the Hawks till Dach is ready but on 65% of NHL teams, he's not a 2C and out of 45% of those teams he is, 85% aren't playoff teams and are rebuilding...it's really that simple. There's no need to be a homer, it's not like you play for the team or are Danault's best friend or family member. I fully admit players on the Hawks that are playing up the lineup due to not having the right player i.e. David Kampf at 3C.

Yeah I agree here, in a good team he's a 3rd center, but on an average team, he's a good 2C

i dont remember the last player ranked top 10 in faceoffs that played 3rd line .
Jeff Carter at 26th is the closest because the leagues top centers occupy the bulk of the top 30 spots by proxy on volume alone if nothing else .


6 other players besides Danault sit around the 50 point mark out of the 26 others ahead of Carter at 27th the top 3rd line Center . People pretend like you need 90 frigging points to be a top 6 Center on a top 10 team in the NHL but that's not reality .

if Domi can increase Volume and Win Rate with the same consistency Danault did we should be fine with him as a top Center .
(he went from 400 to 1000 in the past 2 seasons so 1200-1300 is within reason )

People forget MTL never won their Cups back in the day with a top 10 scorer or 2 in the NHL
they did so because their 1st,2nd and 3rd lines/pairs put up 50-80 points accross the board
they won by committee as has been the MTL way since Rocket Richards era 70 years ago almost
