who sticks and who goes

Created by: jasalex
Team: 2019-20 Tampa Bay Lightning
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 25, 2019

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Volkov once again last night proved he deserves a chance. Verhaeghe is out of options and TB would like to see what he can do. I am guessing the last two spots goes to either Smith, Martel, Rutta or Witkowski. Who do you think gets cut?

Witkowski and Smith.

I’ve seen a few press conferences and I can tell you Cooper is a big fan of Martel.

I feel like Martel is the least likely to be claimed on waivers, though. And it’s up to Cooper who plays each night, but BriseBois decides who to send down. They undoubtedly work together there, but if BriseBois likes Gemel Smith (as I suspect given that we signed him), he might insist that we risk Martel.

In the few games last year he showed chemistry with Paquette. However Martel is another small forward and I think all agree we need to add size upfront for the playoffs. Witkowski may be a surprise he can play upfront or backend and Cooper has said good things. I did not give him a chance till this week.

I think Philly would claim Martel. They did not want to lose him. I am ok with that if it saves others.
