Imo if Laine doesn't wanna stay, id take this and bank on potential. Worst case, Drouin replace 60% of Laine's production and they have a 1st rounder

Drouin
Suzuki
1st in 2021
2nd in 2020 Conditional : if Suzuki plays 40 games or more this season the pick is returned to MTL)

WPG gets what it needs today in players , tomorrow in picks .
giving up Brook when he has no trade value is like trading Subban in 2010 , the drafted team sells low on a player they hold in high regard .

Suzuki's having a great camp but unfortunately he's played a new line each pre-season game and moving from Center to Wing because with Kotkanemi , Poehling , Domi and Danault we dont have as much of a need for Suzuki as we do a goal scoring Winger . Suzuki could fill that role just as easy but there's big upside to Byron-Kotkanemi-Laine mostly for KK in particular long term

And he has excelled despite all the inconsistency. If Suzuki or Caufield is demanded from Jets, I hang up.

Drouin is chopped liver for a 20 game slump (more points than Liane). Liane's value hasn't dropped after 1 great (18/30 goals) month of hockey out of the full season?

Either way, Montreal has some prospects that are untouchable to me. If Liane didn't have such a weird season, maybe I would have a different opinion. But in this scenario. no.

I don't care if we trade Drouin. Just mentioning the double standard. That Drouin's value is rock bottom, and Liane's hasn't budged. Despite Liane calling out his team for usage and bad line mates.
