Opening night roster looking clearer

Created by: Icarus
Team: 2019-20 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 26, 2019
Published: Sep. 26, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Not entirely sure if Steel will be ready by opening night, so him and Lundestrom are interchangeable.
The 4th line seems like it could really see a rotating cast this year. Sherwood, Carrick, Grant, and Comtois seem like easy plug ins.

EDIT: I swapped Del Zotto in and Holzer out.

I really hope this is there line up it looks great for a quick rebuild. And personally I like Kase better than Jones on the 2nd line but that 3rd line looks like a good scoring 3rd

These seem pretty reasonable. Though I tend to think the 4th will be Shore/Deslouries-Grant-Rowney and Spong is the healthy scratch who gets spot duty if a top 9er geta dinged up.

I'll be shocked if that's how the 3rd d-pair shakes out, especially with how good Larsson-Del Zotto looked last night. I fully expect Mahura to be the last d-man cut. Holzy is a perfect spare d-man and I think that's where he'll start.

I really don't like the idea of Terry on Getzy's wing. They play too similar a game and I think they'll cancel each other out a bit.

I am with you on the 3rd pairing. I see MDZ playing with Larsson. I expect the 6 dmen who dressed for the preseason game last night to be the 6 on opening night.

Kase is going to play with Getz and I can see Comtois getting a shot to play with Getz to start the season.

Comtois-Getz-Kase
Raks-Lundestrom/Steel-Silfvy
Jones-Rico-Terry
Ritchie-Shorew-Rowney/Sprong

Lindholm-Manson
Guhle-Fowler
Larsson-MDZ

I agree that Holzer probably wont be the final RD. Del Zotto makes more sense in the lineup and it seems like thats why they signed him. But to me Mahura and Larsson are a toss up. I thought Mahura looked solid too overall. He made some decent picks and played fairly responsibly. I expect the top 4 to stay what it is for sure while the bottom 2 could see a lot of mix and match.

And I kind of think thats why I like Terry with Getz. They think alike, play a similar game, are both really creative, but Terry actually shoots and has decent skating ability. Kase and Getz to me just doesnt make us much sense. Kase doesnt have that finished sort of style needed. He skates well and tried to find space or create opportunities on the rush.

I honestly rather see Sprong in top 9 for sure. But I dont think sitting out will help him much either. Thats what killed his progression in Pit. But like I said, I see the 4th line being a rotating cast all year.

If it's a toss-up between Mahura and Larsson I think Larsson's experience and size give me the edge. at least to start. He's on a short leash in my opinion as this seems like a make-or-break year for him. I really like Mahura but at this stage I really think he could benefit being the guy in San Diego until inevitable injuries come around.

Couldn't agree more. The positive is Larsson and Eakins have been working together awhile. Mahura is still a little more fresh. But Larsson is definitely on a short leash. I think the whole D is aside from the main 3.
