No way you need to retain money on that Smith to Ottawa dump. After 7/1/20 he is owed 2.35m in cash with a 4.35m cap hit. Ottawa will take the whole thing and give you a mid round pick for him.

Would love to keep Kreider for a "discount." Unfortunately, he will probably receive a Hayes-like contract!
