why would we want to pay backstrom 8.5 till he's 39? thats a disaster waiting to happen.
Makar will be making more than that if he's locked up for 8 years. Look at the chabot deal i think it will be rougly the same.
I also really hope rants doesn't hold out for 10.5. Thats an ugly contract.

Backstrom contract doesn't make sense for the Avs. Way too much term and Newhook should be ready at that time. Expect the Avs to keep Kadri on the 2nd line until Newhook arrives.

Kaut would be in the top 9, which could mean that Compher moves to the fourth line. And I expect more from Bura than Jost as a 2nd line winger
