Rantanen is using Marner as comparable, not Laine lol

He'll definitely get more than $8M, even on a bridge deal (unless he steps back for a stupid reason and take a discount)

I think they are both shooting for 6+ years, sakic isnt shelling out 8+mill on a short term, hes already said that

he needs to get paid, considering his LW produced more than normal players at his cap hit and his center is the best bargain the league or so
And COL has ENOUGH cap space

That's a personal decision and one that more players need to make nowdays.
Yes they have the cap space, but they still have many things to address. That blue line is not going to win them a cup. There 2nd line is a 3rd line. They need better players on that 2nd line or they are not going to be able to compete.
