as a wolfpack fan i wouldn't mind watching more young talent at the games but idk if sending Chytil and Howden down would be good for their psyche. Chytil didn't have a good preseason but he is to good for the AHL. as an 18 year old he was on a different level most nights against grown men. they both played full seasons in the nhl already, if they can't make the team it doesn't bold well for them. i would be shocked if either gets sent down.
I would be shocked too but I think it would be the right thing to do for now. In the long run they could gain a ton of confidence back from (hopefully) dominating AHL players and getting a ton of minutes, instead of playing marginal minutes on the 3rd/4th line.
EDIT: Also could have said the same thing for Andersson last year with Chytil making it over him, but look at him now. He has played extremely well in every preseason game Ive watched
Look at the lines for us as well, they all make sense.
1st Line extremely high offensive potential
2nd Line high offensive potential with a bit of physicality
3rd Line high defensive potential with physicality and offensive potential
4th Line immense physicality and pestering players who will stand up for other players
I fail to see how Howden, Kravtsov and Chytil will fit in the 3rd or 4th line
