Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Bryan little, Matt Perrault and Connor hellebuyck are the jets most over paid players and they need to play where they belong based on skill not salary.
Blake wheeler is our best bet at a solid second line center unless we can find a better option from a trade.
Also I fit letestu in as the 12th forward this is interchangeable the rest in my mind are locked in.

Wheeler is not a viable option at centre long term, he plays the best on the wing. He will only play centre if Scheifele gets hurt long term again. Also Hellebuyck struggled for 1 year, we're not giving up on him already.

Hellebuyck has struggled since the Vegas series two years ago when we were a better team and got out goaltended. Also Blake wheeler gets paid to play this game and if that’s where he needs to play to improve this team I’m sure he would not have an issue with that.
Remember Maurice is very stubborn and will never let this happen but he should it would make us a much more difficult team to play against

Sure Wheeler might not have an issue with playing centre, but would he be more effective at centre than on the wing? I don't think so. We should play to our strengths, which involves playing Wheeler on the wing. Little can still be a fine 2C if given the right wingers (Connor and Wheeler, not Laine)

You’re missing the point that we don’t have a second line center right now that has been our biggest issue for 3 years. Remember how good our team was when we had stastny?
Blake wheeler is the only suitable option we have on this team I’ve also looked at his stats while playing center and he’s very solid and has no issues taking care of the extra defensive responsibility. He is a very smart hockey player and I don’t think you give him enough credit.

Yes, we do have a 2nd line centre and his name is Bryan Little. The issue is not Little, and its never been Little. It's the wingers that Maurice has given him. Laine has been attached to Little's hip for the past 2 years, and they have absolutely no chemistry. But it's not Little's fault since Laine is quite poor 5on5. If they just gave him Wheeler as his RW like before, we should have a nice balanced top-six with ESL and CLW.

I have read a few of your other comments and I agree with lots of what you have to say. But with all due respect little is not a 2c in this league. Maurice needs to get his head out of his butthole and play the best guy For the job not the highest paid.

How can we say Little is not a 2C in this league yet think Lowry is a 3C, this team isn't going anywhere until Lowry is put in the 4C spot where he belongs.

Wheeler hasn't looked nearly as good in the preseason games when he wasn't with Scheiffele, not sure if he'd be all that effective at center.

Very much agree with this, Little works very well with pretty much everyone but Laine, give him some wingers he works with and this team will be fine up front at least.

A good nhl center can do 3 things. 1) protect the puck. Bryan little can not protect the puck he’s to small and gets knocked off the puck very easily. 2) create opportunity’s for line mates to get open. Also does not do this as he is to small and needs line mates to open up ice for him. 3) be smart in his own end a centerman is your 3rd defenceman in your own end. This is where he strives but if you’re only good at one of these theee things you are a 4c on this team. Lowry is also very solid and I don’t know why you would think he belongs on the 4th line that seems like a swing and a miss for me.... he rarely spent any time in his own end last year although losing tanev will certainly change that a bit as he was a big part of that line. But sure 4c or 3c for Lowry either way he doesn’t need his ice time adjusted.

Hellebuyck let in 3 bad goals today in a preseason game for a big goalie he sure makes himself look small. Also he makes 6 million a year he should be a stud not a liability. I always hope guys can improve but he has been brutal since the second round of the playoffs in ‘18.
