Description
This is what I’m expecting to see come opening night, I think we’re gonna see laine and Connor together with little on the second line. I wish Maurice would make other choices than this. But I don’t see him having the lineup any different than this. Once Niku is back he’ll slide in with kulikov on the right side. Poolman and heinola on bottom pair. If heinola continues his level of play into the regular season, I see him staying with the team for an extended period. IMO Gustafsson should make the team and same with heinola, but I hope that Chevy sends them both back overseas. It wouldn’t hurt to let their ELC’s slide. Also I don’t think this is our year so no reason to rush them. I wish that they’d waive Bitetto and let Nogier stay with the team but I doubt Maurice makes that decision. I think he’s earned a spot there for now, until Niku and or buff returns. If they both come back heinola probably gets sent overseas. We may even see a few trades this year so our guys don’t get picked up on waivers for nothing.

Once again, this is what I expect to see opening night, not what I want to see. I’m not sure how serious littles injury is or if he even is gonna be our so I just put him on IR. I honesty hope he misses some time so copp gets a shot at 2c. I could see a situation where gustafsson stays while little is out and plays 3c.

I’m not sold on helly this year, it’s just preseason though so I’m waiting for more play time before I make an informed decision. I just hope we don’t see his numbers decline even more this season. If that’s the case, I’d love for brossoit to step up and play 35-40 games and have great numbers.

Edit: I could even see Gustafsson getting a chance at 2c. The guys a stud and imo he’ll be our 2c in two years. Maurice wasn’t afraid to throw him in deep waters against MIN on that first line. Maybe he’ll toss him in there with Connor and Laine. I doubt it though as they missed camp. Maybe he’ll play wheeler and ehlers with gustafsson and laine and Connor on the first line until things get back to normal.

Bitetto has earned his bench warmer seat as he does seem to have a voice...As a player, I can see someone like Stanley coming up in case of injuries...

I'd have Heinola and Poolman as a pairing. They looked really good together in the preseason. Put Kulikov on his off wing with Beaulieu. Other than that I like the look of this lineup. Although I wouldn't be opposed to giving Roslovic an audition at 2C.

As much as I would like to see Gustafsson start the season on the 3rd line, I think Letestu will be centering the 4th and Lowry the 3rd. If Little does hit the IR, i think Gustafsson will start the season with the jets and will hopefully get the opportunity to take minutes away from Letestu

Bitetto thrives in being a guy you plug in when injuries happen. I know that sounds funny, but it cant be easy to sit for 10-20 games and then get thrown in the fire. Good depth Dman to have IMO.
I agree that Stanley could get the call if there is a long term injury, but I guess that is based on his AHL performance too

Would the Jets do something like Leddy for Perreault, Stanley, and a 2nd round pick? If Perreault is slightly retained the pick can be lower.

It’s not about rushing the kids. He only reason they are under consideration is because it is both good for their development to play in he nhl and they deserve it
