Description

Continuing my “if I were the GM of-“ series, we have the Edmonton Oilers. Edmonton needs more talent but with the prospects in their system, that shouldn’t be a problem for much longer. Defense is mediocre at best and the top 6 is questionable. Mike Smith is an older piece that they added this summer and I traded him away for picks l. My question is who should the oilers go after goalie wise in a trade? IMO, Skinner is a few years away but has decent starter upside. Would a guy like DeSmith or Jarry work for this team? Let me know down below.

This trade would be made if Columbus realizes that Merzlikins isn’t ready for the show. Smith is still a solid backup for his age and has a low risk medium reward contract. Not a permanent solution for Columbus but a solution non the less.
