Really liking this lineup...well done. Not sure if Dach gets more then a 2 or 3 games at the beginning of the season, as I'm guessing they give him more at the end of the season to keep it under 9, but if he looks good i'm sure they will keep playing him. That would be awesome if Dach can step in as the 3C this year and is a better option then Kampf...would give the Hawks a lot more options.

Why do I get the feeling dach is like kotkaniemi 2.0. I mean that in the sense of not how good they are, but rather both teams were/are so bad that they needed each. If dach makes the team permanently, I have a feeling we’re gonna be out of the playoffs we’ll beyond this year. Cuz we don’t need centers the way Montreal did, and they got 96 points last year and MISSED the playoffs.

Head back to Canada kirby, you need to learn to dominate boys before playing with men. Might have helped kotkaniemi as well.

I don't want to put Nylander with Dach. Dach needs more veterans around him IMO. He's 18 and while I do agree with the Jesperi comparison...Jesperi played in an adult league even if it was overseas. I'm all for allowing Dach to experience a few NHL games...Also, depending on how well he does (he'd have to completely wow me) sticking around. I guess I'd just prefer to allow him to go back to the Blades and Dominate there first. Nothing wrong AT ALL with allowing a prospect to progress naturally.

The problem is I'm not sold on Kampf as a 3C and Shaw is playing wing so as unlikely as it is, if Dach plays a few games and shows he can play then i'm all for having him in the lineup this year.

I completely 100% agree.

I could see Shaw swapping w Nylander then for a few games but I put Nylander w Dach bc they seemed to have chemistry when theyve practiced together. But I wouldnt mind him going back to the Blades for a year either. I just want them to give Dach a real look, not a few games with 8-11 minutes per night.

I have to say, everyone is hitting very important points about dach’s development and how he should proceed this season. The one point that just JUMPED out at me though, is the point of ice time. I’m not saying they’re going to constantly do this if he stuck around, but dach would clearly be he 3C all season. If that’s the case,’his natural development may actually be harmed if he’s playing less than 13 minutes a night. Again, who’s to say if that’s how they’ll dole out ice time. But I do know keeping him around has to be done with the idea in mind of giving him 17 minutes of time or more, especially if they’re as high on him as they say. Otherwise, go back to Saskatoon and gent 22 minutes a night. That’s plenty of time per night to continue to develop.

The Canadiens didn’t need KK last year. He forced out a perfectly good Tomas Plekanec after his great training camp last year. But I think they could be similar in that they surprise by making the team.

At least kotkaniemi was playing with adults. Dach just comes off as the only top five pick who didn’t belong there. So he’s big, but he can’t really skate or use said size. I’ll gladly take kotkaniemi over dach.
