Let’s go to the shopping mall of castoffs for new players. Oh wait, where are we going to put them?
I guess just waive a bunch of our own.

I never mentioned waiving any of the players on Columbus, just switch out throughout the season and if it doesn't work out with the players acquired you could still send them down, waive them, or trade them. Not only that but you still have quite a bit of cap space. Ho-Sang has a lot of potential, DeSmith doesn't fix the problem in net but will help out Korpisalo and help prevent the team from being as terrible as it is going to be. Baertschi is a solid bottom six forward, Agostino has the ability to improve even though he is 27 as shown by last season, Hickey isn't bad, would switch out with Harrington and as mentioned before there is still the possibility of trading him. As for the forwards, each one claimed off of waivers performed better than Nash last season except for Ho-Sang who didn't play as many games, but I guarantee you if he did he still would have done better than Nash, hopefully answering any complaints about Nash being a healthy scratch.

So, when you want to claim someone a team offers for waivers, luckily, you're not required to claim everybody they're offering. Ho-Sang and Hickey each fell apart on offense last year. Neither has any value. But Hickey costs ten times as much, so that's not the interesting side of the gamble.

Confused

He not bad in his own end, blocks shots, not afraid to get physical, sure he struggles offensively and there are better players Columbus could get in trades, but there's currently no better defensive player that doesn't come at the cost of another one

He was on pace for 8 points last year and has almost $8M remaining over three years. I like Agostino and DeSmith for the Jackets. Both are good plugs without any long term cap effects. Ho-Sang is also possible, although maybe less likely. They have other prospects who could use the spot to develop. Baertschi is consistent and dependable but unexciting. A bunch of CBJ fans seem to want him. I'm not sure why anymore.

As mentioned before, he isn't a stud offensively, it's in the defensive zone he makes an impact.

Columbus's waiver priority is 19th. I'm not sure you will even get a chance to claim one of those guys.

I mean, the CBJ players you took out of the lineup are much better than these bums with whom you replaced them.

Everyone of theses forwards out performed Nash last season, the exception being Josh Ho-Sang. Defense there is no explanation
