Manning is pure dead weight. Baertschi can obviously still play, I think it had more to do with health concerns.

Very true on Manning. Really this would just be to maintain current amount of contract numbers, Van saves 2 mil compared to Sven when they waive Manning, and get a 4th round pick.

I wouldn't like this trade personally, but it's actually a fair trade offer. If the Canucks have lost their belief in Baerschi, this would be a good deal.

I agree that Manning is dead weight, but the Canucks save $1M in space this year and $3.2M next year.
