Description
Trade partners are placeholders and values based on at least some success (and health) during the regular season. Assumption is that Svech, Ras, and Seider continue to play well in GR thus they wind up at the big club permanently post-trade deadline. I initially had E on the trade block as well, but then remembered there's no way anyone would take him.

I think that you're two rounds too high for each of those vets. But the idea is sound.

Makes sense, will definitely be retaining salary on those guys, but that shouldn't be an issue as theyre rentals, except Helm

There is no way Daley ever gets a 3rd. By the time any team is trading for him he is 2 months from retirement. No team would waste a 3rd. I would say a 5th is his best case, and we will probably be retaining salary (although that doesn't matter anyways). Depending on how Green is playing and if he is healthy or not, he may be able to warrant a 2nd. He has to have played most of the season and be putting up good powerplay numbers, but it's possible. I've always thought a 3rd for Darren Helm with like 50% or more retained is in the realm of possibility, but as he gets older and older that is slipping away. I would say at this point a 4th with some percentage less than 50 retained is more realistic. These are the exact guys we want to see moving though, and I could throw in Glendening or even Athanasiou if we want to get really drastic. Other than that I wouldn't except anybody to be moved unless the offer is something we cannot turn down. Also Mo Seider will not be the guy called up if we do trade these guys away. Big E will play, and maybe somebody like Lashoff or Kaski will be called up. Seider will get his 9 games like Zadina last year, but there is no point in burning a year of his contract to play from the deadline on of a pointless season. He will probably make the team out of camp come next year.

I could see Florida or Toronto going after Green, but not St Louis.

Trading Daley, Ericsson or Green really doesn't matter any more they are in the final year of their contracts and won't be resigned.

Helm has 2 years left but is still productive and has a lot of speed. I think if he is traded expect a very small return unless Detroit does retain some salary.

That leaves Abdelkader and he is currently untradeable. Detroit's best hope is he spent the off season working on his game.

the odds any of the 3 will be healthy and you can move them are astronomical. Green sure maybe even the second if hes healthy and playing good. Daley maybe maybe but like a 5th and helm who wants to pay him another season at 3.8 million no way any one takes him unless you retain cash
