I wouldn't be adding anything to Drouin to get RNH. Drouin is younger and locked up for a cheaper contract longer.

With what little Drouin has shown lately, is his contract at that figure being longer really a good thing in a trade? I bet that if both RNH and Drouin were going to FA next year, teams would probably pay 1-2 mil more for RNH than Drouin on a longer deal of the same length.

Plus RNH is just the utmost pro, has never complained about EDM crap over the years, just does his job the best he can for the team. Drouin...perhaps not the same track record.

Why would Oilers do this, Nuge is a way better player, can play center or wing and does not complain ever what **** the Oilers play on his wing!

Is he really though? I mean Drouin has put up 50 points on the wing of vastly inferior centers, none of which play the same speed and possession game he does. RNH is mostly a winger now and has put up 60 points with Mcdavid, he is better defensively but I think that Drouin on Mcdavids wing turns into a 70+ point winger

I think RNH would get more from other teams but they would be expecting a second line 2 way center, singing Drouin you know you're getting an offensive winger, so it would just be how the expectations are set.

I don't get this whole complaining thing to be honest, he lead Tampa to the playoffs one season then the next season he basically got demoted to the AHL right away and asked for a trade. Since then he hasn't said a thing while being ripped apart by the harshest hockey market in the world

If that were true you could argue it, but its not. Nuge spent the vast majority of last season as the second line centre with wingers like Lucic, Puljujarvi, Khaira and Chiasson. It was Drai who was turned into a winger beside McD.

Plus Nuge played over 3 mins more per game last season, in all situations hr is useful. It just doesn’t quite stack up.

Everyone saying this trade isn't enough isn't realizing the top 9 Winger in Lekhonen you'd be getting, plus a depth defenseman you can unload at the deadline. Although you may need him if Larsson is out till the new year like everyones saying.

We were talking about the straight up Drouin for Nuge trade

You understand Nuge is 68th in the league in faceoffs taken and has very close to the same amount as McDavid, he mostly plays center!
