Too early to judge that trade.

Here's a couple "serious" thoughts:

1. WPG is absolutely terrible defensively.
2. Vegas will never lose to the Sharks again. Dominated last night.
3. Austin Matthews could score 60+ (I said the same thing after the first few weeks last season).
4. Losing Adam Larsson is a catastrophe for EDM.
5. Duchene looks to be a great fit in Nashville.
6. PIT just lost to BUF in reg. for the first time in many years. Trouble for the Pens.
7. Rantanen is worth the big $$$.
8. Bergevin desperately wants a re-do on the Drouin/Sergachev trade.

Trouble for the Pens? Because they lost one game? You could lose your opening game 10-0 to Ottawa and it doesn't mean you're going to miss the playoffs. Obviously all the games matter, but it's too early to say "trouble for the Pens".

That Jet's defence is arguably the worst in the league. Maybe even worse than Ottawa's if Byfuglien retires.

12 serious thoughts from watching 1 game and reading a bunch of box scores:

1. Bruins Defense is fantastic.
2, Bruins offense has another level to it this year, i dont think it can operate the same when chara is on the ice because of how ungodly slow he has become.
3. Roope hintz is going to put up 30 goals this year, dude can fly.
4. Bishop is 6'7? IF this guy stays healthy he could win the vezina this year.
5. Dallas still doesnt have multiple lines of offense.
6. Pavelski looked like he doesnt fit.
7. Krug was HORRIBLE in his own zone all night hope he kicks off the rust cuz he was getting beat to pucks and muscled off left and right.
8. Leafs defense still stinks even after overhauling it.
9. Florida might be overrated or the lightning are on a warpath after getting swept in the playoffs.
10. Tampa is still a dirty team.
11. Jets are gunna be a bottom 10 team this year.
12. If matthews stays healthy (he wont) he will score more goals than ovechkin this year.

7 of those thoughts had to do with the Boston-Dallas game lol. Also, what makes you think Matthews won't stay healthy? Just 'cause he's gotten injured in the past doesn't mean he will this year.

the first sentence said I watched 1 game (bruins vs stars). Idk just a gut feeling. I think he's soft.

I'm watching the Flyers-Blackhawks game and after the 1st period i can say Gustafsson is good but he's mainly there for offence (we already knew this already). Gilbert made one not great play for Chicago that led to a Flyers goal. Twarynski looks like a good player.

Konecny is really fun to watch ... i've always thought he was fun to watch. He's having a great game so far.

Gilbert has actually played a pretty good game other than that one play IMO.

There are many reasons why PIT won't make the playoffs. Losing to BUF is simply a bad omen.

Jets defense is terrible. But, man can they score goals. They still have one of the best top lines in the league.

I agree, but then losing to Buffalo isn't a good reason. It's 1 game. If they had won that game i'd be saying they miss the playoffs.

One thought about the TOR-MTL game last night: I think Babcock should've called a timeout after Montreal scored their second goal. It was pretty apparent that the Leafs were either getting complacent or frustrated, and probably would've prevented the boneheaded moves some guys made (like Kerfoot hitting Weber from behind and Kapenen throwing his stick).

Overall I think the team needs to work on their composure and not give up so readily. They were lucky to walk away with the point.
