Logan Baby Dont Do This

Created by: Claesson4Norris
Team: 2019-20 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 3, 2019
Published: Oct. 3, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
We're literally one game into the season and we're already into the bull****. Sounds like Logan Brown is pretty unhappy about still being in the AHL, based on recent comments from his agent.

In my opinion, the Sens should be calling GMs about Tierney or Pageau. The Sens will be trading one of if not both of them this year anyway, and Brown was always going to be the guy filling the roster spot. Rather than keep them around until January, move the timeline up a few months and Get Brown up on the roster. The last thing Ottawa needs is for their relationship between their Top Prospect to go sour...

Patience is key, hopefully it’s blown out proportion. He has to know (who cares what his agent thinks in the end) that he will get a shot in the next handful of months. He’s aware of the rebuild and aware of how they work (atleast he should be). He’ll have a spot soon

I think he would get more out of playing with guys like Ennis and Connor Brown than playing top line minutes in the AHL.

Logan's biggest issue has always been motivation. He's not lazy, but he definitely can lose sight of things, and needs a kick in the pants every so often. Playing him with two vets like Ennis and Connor, who never take a shift off and work their asses off would show L.B. what it takes to be an NHL player. Plus it's not like those guys are bums offensively.
yikes liked this.

I have Brown, Brannstrom and Batherson all pretty close. Brannstrom might get the edge because he's younger.

Brown will have to work much harder to reach his skill "ceiling" than Brannstrom will. Brannstrom is much more likely to reach his full potential.

I dunno, an entitled 20 year old is also very telling. Brown should really prove why he should be in the NHL because he certainly didn't show enough in the preseason this year...

To be honest, neither did Batherson. I thought Brown had a better camp all around and proved all around that he deserves to be at the NHL level. Case in point, Batherson's first showing against the leafs was telling. He needs a little more time to cook or to find his game again.

Or... we play him with Brown and Paul on the 3rd line and scratch the crap out of Anisimov, Ennis and Boedker.

If you think Brown and Brannstrom are comparable prospects. How bad do you think Ottawa lost the Mark Stone trade?

Yeah possibly. I don't know the entire story, simply saying that there's being disappointed about being demoted and there's being annoyed with being demoted because you feel entitled. If it's the latter, I think Brown should prove something first. He wasn't that great in pre season (even if Batherson wasn't either that's beside the point and not his concern) and hasn't been lights out in the AHL yet either. Good but not great.

If he's already pouting, to me that is a little telling, although i don't the severity of it so it could be less i have in my head. Every good prospect knows they'll be with the big club if they're good enough, eventually. No coach/GM intentionally keeps a good player down just to bust their balls.

Well considering the extension was signed like a day later I'm guessing that was all part of the trade discussion at the time

The fact that they only got Branny and a 2nd WITH an 8 year extension on place is what makes it bad. What they got was decent value for Stone as a rental, but there should have been more than that with an extension.

Right, which is why I'm pointing at Cody Glass
