Not a fan of the move when we have young guys who we have to acclimate into the top 6. I'm assuming Steen gets bought out and Allen traded in off-season. Perron likely gets taken by Seattle. What happens to Schwartz?

Its a solid signing. I was predicting a 6-7 year x 7.5-8 mill on the open market so that's pretty solid

Are they even going to have the money to pay market value for Pietrangelo?

It's definitely great value. It's tough to see how they make Pietrangelo work now, though.

Should be pretty good value for the next 5 years. Probably not the best on the latter end. Hopefully it's front-loaded.
This makes it even more likely Petro won't be re-signing. Guess we'll wait and see.

Only stupid ones. A FA such as Pietrangelo hitting the open market is going to want a big cap hit and term. He's going to be 30 at the start of that. Bad idea that only a bad GM would do. Dubas knows players decline in their 30's, Pietrangelo's next contract will 100% be a problem one. Someone will pay him but it'll look bad real quick.

Can't they trade Bozak? A 10 team NTL is pretty easy to navigate.

Also Allen.

Yeah, Perron and Bozak have tradeable contracts even with their m-NTCs. Steen would be harder, but could be bought out to get a little bit of relief. The last year of Allen's deal could be moved - he's not a no.1 but he's an NHL goalie, and with a sweetener like Fabbri/Sanford, I think there would be interest. All of those things are better than losing Petro.
