What if instead of Toffoli you gave us Turcotte and instead of those other picks you gave us a 1st? Because that's what it would take to get DeBrincat. Maybe not fair value, but you can't have him for less.

Yeah I agree. if they cant rule the Pacific by Feb, trade for better players by giving away lesser good players. S.M.A.R.T.

This GM thing is so easy. squinting with tongue out

This is some kind of bizarre, but if Murray starts having injury issues again we might consider it - mostly because of the 1st.

That first is top 5 so that worth Murray +

That's an incredibly embarrassing DeBrincat trade.

And even with these two moves, Kings aren't better than the Flames, Knights, Sharks and Coyotes. They'd be lucky to get a wild card spot and if they don't, you've given up a lottery pick and don't draft until the afternoon on the second day.

Generally you don't get a top-pairing defenseman for a single draft pick.

The point is probably moot in any case, given just how far off the OP's DeBrincat trade is.

If you had a draft with 9 players that where looking like the top 4 this year...would you not trade a player who is aging especially in a young "rebuilding" team like colombus?

Aging? Murray is 26. We don't have a single blueliner on our team over the age of 30. And that's assuming we were planning on "rebuilding" in the first place...

For some reason I thought Murray was 32...my bad but.my point was like would you trade him for Turcotte or Byram? He is actually really good, I like Murray. By rebuilding I mean a team that lost its 2 best players and then its very good #2 center

You mean, if I had those guys, would I trade one of them for Murray? Depends heavily on the situation my team is in. It's rather unlikely, but it's possible - say, if the team in question badly needs an established top-pairing LD. I frankly don't know if LA's in such a situation or not as I haven't been paying that close attention.
