Description
Bad start for the Hawks, Flyers dominated them probably should have been 10-3 because of our defense (Except Maatta). Crow cant stop people when the defense is so timid like keith turning over the puck to laughton and not poke checking TK and letting him easily wrist one past crow. Only bad goal crow let in was the raffl goal, dont know why he wasnt in position there.

Offense is fine but why hasnt Colliton played Kubalik with Toews once? Caggs shouldnt be on the top line and Nylander has the same laid back attitude as Kane so neither player will chase or fight that hard for the puck in the corners. Kubalik brings a nice combination of skill, size, and speed which the hawks need on that line.

Saad is too skilled to be on the third line, hes also fast, which strome isnt and not 5'7 like debrincat so saad is the best option to be the forechecker on the second line. Strome is a step or two behind the other players and cant always use his size or reach to get puck possession.

Kampf worked on his offense this offseason but it seems to be to the detriment of his defensive skills, he didnt win a single faceoff until the third period. Ryan carpenter and Zack smith cant be the only people to win a faceoff.

Game was closer than it should have been but the flyers actually showed up for every period. Too bad De Haan is still hurt and Murphy starts the season hurt. Again.

I dont see why we split up the saad-kampf-kubalik line. was easily our best line.

They had good chances but Kampf cant win faceoffs. Until he does he shouldnt be 3C.

He's had a 49% FO% the past two seasons. I don't think one game should be the end all be all.

He wasnt good on FO in preseason either. He was also playing 4C against worse players the last few seasons too. Youre right 1 game shouldnt be the end all but not winning 1 FO for 2 periods is just awful.

I mean yeah fair. I think he will pick it back up sooner rather than later though. Still think we should keep at least him and kubalik on the same line with how effective they were together. If Kampf doesnt show signs of improvement next game, I'd be all for the switch. Could even try Kubalik-Kampf-Shaw and have Shaw take the FOs instead

I like that line. Any line with Shaw provides compete which we need more of.
