On Pietrangelo no way Blues aren’t paying 9.5M for 7 years it’s gonna be around 6-7M for like 4-5 years

Is he seriously suggesting Pietrangelo signs a Tyler Myers contract? Man, I have seen some crazy thoughts here, but that just might be the new high score lmao!

I've had many conversations with beastmodeunknown and I can attest that he certainly knows what he's talking about. He's a unbiased hockey fan/blues fan that deserves your respect. Also, it's a lot easier to get players to take less (though he could get more on the open market, I see him staying for less to chase another couple of cups with St.Louis), as beastmode suggested.

I agree that he likely takes less to stay.... But I think he gets more term because of it.

Why would Bozak waive his NTC for Columbus instead of staying with a contender??

lol. You don't understand what my logic even is. You are one of the people who hates the Blues. I would expect that kind of backlash from a casual fan. Why would Pietrangelo want to up and move his triplets and his wife. OUR CAPTAIN would take a paycut, but if you haven't seen him at all during any of the past 3 years. You don't watch him enough to understand why I think he would take a paycut. 10.5 is bogus especially when he isn't just barely under Karlsson when it comes to skill. 10.5M is completely off the charts if you compare him to Karlsson. You'll be surprised to see he would take a lesser contract to stay. He has settled here well with Triplets. His wife loves it here, and he loves being the Blues captain. This is basically everyone with the McAvoy deal people thought he was wanting a larger contract yet he took a smaller contract. Pietrangelo would be willing to do the same thing.

I kinda like the blues. I loved them before the cup, and despite them beating my team, and in front of my eyes in game 7 no less, i still kind of like them.

Money talks. Always.

Bringing up McAvoy is really dumb. I said open market. McAvoy never was on the open market. No team could ever bid on his services. Next.

Pietrangelo hasn't really wanted open market. he isn't in Ottawa or on the Isles like John Tavares or Karlsson were. He is in a better position. He has a winning team behind him. So why would he want to leave like what would be the reasoning. He isn't gonna leave just to leave with Triplets they just had 9 months ago. You don't just up and move for no reason. There is no logic behind him leaving just to leave lmao.

Sorry man, if you’re this obtuse I just have no interest in conversing with you.

Doughty didn’t want to leave either. He got top dollar. Karlsson didn’t want to leave. He got top dollar. Home town discounts are SO rare.

Well if that's how it goes. I think Blues will just pass. He isnt worth 10.5M if you watched him how he played lol. He definitely isn't worth it.

he only has a 10 team list so it may not be a matter of waiving it for CBS

agree also seems more realistic, though I bet it would be more 5 X 5

If it's done sooner than later it could be easy bc Dunn could end up having a crazy good season then the money will go up. But at the same time they can't really do anything until they have Petro signed.

Khudobin is great but he may very well be unnecessary in this equation if Husso has a good year and stays healthy

Now that's not gonna happen either. He's worth more than that for sure. I like the @braisman suggestion of 5 x $9M, although I think the dollar value could come in slightly lower if Pietrangelo wants to stay and signs a team-friendly deal. But it'll be at least $8M I would think.

Nope. The projection for his next contract (had it come due this past July) is 8 x $8,351,059.

By who? Petros agent? The blues? Unless it’s from one of those two sources it means absolutely zero.

Nope.

LOL, neither of those sources would give you an accurate figure. They'd be millions apart.

Citing evolving wild as gospel is just so damn lazy and unimaginative. “Well evolving wild said so so that’s what it’s going to be!”

They’re frequently very wrong. I wouldn’t go as far to say they’re trash, but it’s just some person or people on the internet that are taking a guess, just like all of us here.

You can use your own brain, you don’t have to depend on others.
