I’d think it’d be the exact opposite. The team taking the player has no leverage in a deal like this. Chicago could easily trade him somewhere else. If anything, WPG would have to pay MORE since they’re a divisional rival.

Exactly what I meant. As division rivals, CHI might want a bigger compensation, thus making it wiser for Jets to trade with other teams. That's their leverage.
