Stop FN trading Lauzon! Not to mention you are downgrading with that trade for no reason.

If Bolts thought so little of Domingue that they went out and signed a Curtis Mac to replace him while Louie was still under contract when they needed the cap space then sent Louie to the minors, what makes you think that’s a good signing?

Wagner not taking a pay cut.

Still trading Lauzon wouldn't be a bad move. He is NHL ready and although he can stay in the A for a while, at some point, he deserves to be up. Give him this chance somewhere else if not here, just like Cehlarik. With Vaakanainen, Krug/Grzelcyk (or both) and Moore on LD for upcoming years, no place for Lauzon.

you over value your players way to much.
DeBrusk is not worth 6+ million. 4.5 to 5 range is my guess.

Understand that, but for nothing? Urho V - Krug/Grizz - Lauzon should be their pairings in 2 years with Moore as 7th man. . Zboril should be dealt with a pick to upgrade RW at deadline if needed. Or maybe try to package him and Senyshyn for Pool Party and pick/prospect.

If he’s getting 8 years he will get close to 6. He’s averaged 25g per 82 games. Was on pace for 32 last year.

I'm sure it doesn't matter but as a Detroit fan I'm good with the trade.

yeah maybe if he played for toronto and their rookie ass GM.

Go look around the league for what RFA signed for. He won't get almost 7 million.
Connor got 7 million he's a 30+ goal scorer.
Tkachuk got 7 million, he's no Tkachuk.

Like I said he'll get 4.5 - 5 million.
I doubt they sign him to 8 years. Even if they did he's still not worth almost 7. Hell Jake Guentzel only got 6 million.

Chuky was a bridge deal. He would have gotten a lot more at 8 years. And i never said 7. I said he’d get close to 6 for 8 years. Of course that depends on what he does this year too. I doubt they sign him for 8 with Backes still on the books and Krug, Coyle, Wagner, Halak UFAs and Grizz, Kuhlman, Ritchie RFAs as well they will need to keep his cap hit down. 3 years at 3.5 maybe.

it doesn't matter for a player like him. He's not a high offensive talent. So if it's 3 years or 8 years. He's not getting almost 7 million a year.

You are talking about a 40 point guy who had one good year so far at 27 goals.
That's it.
Given he gets another year to prove himself but he hasn't done it yet.
If you had to write that contract right now no way you give him 8 at almost 7. No GM would.
Even if he scores another 20+ goals he's not going to get that.
If you want the money you have to A. stay on the ice, and B. produce while you are there. 40 points isn't going to do it. Especially when his defense was sketchy last year.
You don't even need to leave the team to find a comparable here. Just look at Pasta. You'd be paying him more than him here. And he's clearly not the better player.

Again, i said close to 6...not 7. Close to 6...as in 5.25 to 5.75 for 8 years.

Guentzel was a great comparison. First 2 years 32 goals in 122 games 48 points in year 2 in 82 games. Debrusk 43 goals in 140 games. Year 2 43 points in 68 games. And Debrusk is 2 years younger after his first 2 years than Guentzel was. And does not get the luxury of playing with Crosby. ??‍♂️

you left out the part where Guentzel scored 23 goals in the playoffs in those first 2 years, proving to be an absolute beast when games count and being a key contributor to two cups.
I'm sorry they are not good comparison. If anyone had the choice between the two of them we all know who they could take.
He will clearly get less than that. Significantly less.

If he gets a bridge deal...yup. If not...nope.
