I see a majority of Sabres fans trade him for scraps. What does it take than?

Let's say the trade goes through, I wouldn't protect Risto, I would rather protect 2 more forwards. Risto only has one more year left till UFA. Even Risto is claimed, that 5.25m in cap space gained.

Not bad. I'd go for something like this.

I think it is a decent offer for Ristolainen. IMO Betterall is very happy with the team he has assembled. Eight or more quality NHL defensemen, sufficient forward depth that Thompson was sent to Rochester, Rodrigues sits in the PB and a GK coach who just might turn our AHL goalies into average NHL goalies. Most important is he is under the cap.
With that in mind, I still think it would take a 60 pt/yr forward to move Ristolainen.
BTW, how many of you saw:
https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/276091
DAL gets Ristolainen, Rasmus and BUF gets Comeau, Blake; Dellandrea, Ty and 2021 1st round pick (DAL)
Similar offers, better than most I have seen on this site, just different years for the first and different prospects.

I probably wouldn't. Losing both Dellandrea and first seems too rough loss. We don't have that much center prospects as it is.

With Seguin and Hintz holding down the 1st and 2nd lines, and Dickinson or Faksa for 3rd, they’d be fine
