Terrible. We give up our one blue chip prospect and a very cheap forward loyal to the team for a rental forward and ok backup goalie

If you’ve watched the last three game Labanc has been flat out bad. Kreider is a vast improvement. We have Karlsson and Kniazev coming up, have far more need for forward’s than offensive dmen

Georgiev has been more than an “ok” backup so far

I’ve liked his game for a long time. I think he’d push Jones to be better. Dell is a good goalie when he stays in the crease. He likes to handle the puck too much and often gets out of position.
Nikolay_Zherdev liked this.

I also like that Dell is feisty and stirs things up with the opponent. Ask Mark Stone and Sam Bennett lol.

Labanc has been bad yes, for three whole games. You gotta realize this trade destroys our future. What do we do next year sans Labanc and Kreider without any great prospects or a first?

We’ve been mining a good portion of our nhl talent from euro leagues, Sorensen, Melker, Bergmann, Yurtaykin, Simek, Korenar, I imagine this continues. Moving Merk does not “destroy” the future. What a silly thing to say.

We do not have top line forwards in the pipeline at all. If anything Merks should be used to get a Laine/Connor/Konecy type

It works take sending a LOT more talent than Merkley to get established 60-75 point players. Not even close.

I value him enough to trade him for a proper top six winger and a proper nhl quality goaltender.

For one year of a top six winger while we also give up a middle six winger is not a good deal whatsoever. Rangers fans would be cheering for years
