Description
Believe it or not...... our first line is eventually going to go cold. There's currently 0 offense being generated consistently on our other lines. Something needs to be done. I'm going to assume no call ups will be made for our matchup vs EDM, as there's yet another four days off until the next game.

1st line: Do. Not. Touch.

2nd line: Kreider and Kaapo are showing flashes - individually - of offensive talent... but there's nothing in the middle to combine their efforts. I'm liking Strome's defensive play and work on the faceoff dot, but he's completely invisible in the offensive zone. Move him down to the 3rd line, and promote Howden up, who is also showing flashes of offensive talent, but with Jesper Fast on his wing...

3rd line: One of the main reasons Fil and Krav were sent down was because they wouldn't be getting the minutes they "should have", according to the coach and GM... yet, they seem content with dumping Lias down there on the 4th line. It's so hard to gauge his game at all right now since majority of his minutes in the first two games have been on the penalty kill (which, he's good at). Promote him to the third line to make a pretty nifty shut down line that also has some offensive upside with Lias - Strome - Vladislav.

4th line: Bring in the McKeggerator to center Lemmy and Fast. Bringing in McKegg grants Lias the ability to be promoted. As much as I'm oddly enjoying the Brendan Smith Experiment, he will have to be scratched for this to happen. This scratch is purposeful, though; Promote Lias, bring in veteran 4th liner McKegg, and let's see what Hajek can do on the PK. Haley remains scratched as I believe his only purpose is to play when there are goons present, which EDM has none.

Defense: I'm liking the updated pairings; what a mistake it was to have two rookie defensemen on the same pairing the first game... run the 3 pairings as usual unless it's crunch time, then pair Brady and Trouba and only use Fox/Hajek for special teams.

Love the idea getting Strome off the 2nd line...but I would replace with either Lias or Names...with Lias as 2C, Howden can center Strome and Names on 3rd...I believe defensive coverage (similar to Chytl) is still a weakness for Howden, while Lias is more sound defensively...also since he is a natural C, I would keep him there- playing w/ Kakko and Kreider May then allow his offensive game to take a step.

BTW...that 4th line looks like a grinding line no team will like playing against.

I'd honestly keep the normal lines but straight up swap strome and andy

I don't think Names has played center in a Rangers sweater (at least, not for a long time) so I don't know what he looks like there... I'd be fine with Lias, too, but he seems to always be in Quinn's dog house... I don't know what it is. Strome should be doing big things with those wingers, so I hope they try someone else

It's literally the embodiment of their mantra... Fast, Physical, Relentless. I thought this was going to be a given 4th line for most of the year. Hope we see it one day

also get strome out of here. still think a trade before the season started would've been when his value was highest, even if it was still low relatively speaking
