I don't see a trade happening soon, as long as the Sabres continue to play like they have the first two games, I don't see Botterill upsetting the chemistry of the club. When Montour comes back they will send Jokiharu down. My question is what is everybody's infatuation with Roslovic? He's never been a big scorer. Granted he's young and could become a good player but that's a gamble. If I'm trading with Winnipeg I go for Ehlers. As we are seeing Botterill isn't trading Risto unless he gets what he wants in return. Risto has term so there is no rush on Botterill's part. I also think Botterill wants to see how RK handles Risto first. Lastly, sometimes the best trade made is the one that's not made.

With the way Joki has been playing so far, no shot they will be sending him down, why send down Joki that is doing good and not having any problems competing in the nhl, you can have Scandella as a backup defenseman and send down Gilmour

If I'm not mistaken Gilmour is subject to waivers and at 700k could be a cheap claim for a team needing a puck moving LD. Jokiharju at least gives them wiggle room for the time being until things are sorted out, doesn't mean he's down there to stay the rest of the year

Trade Montour...he is arguably the 4th best RD...and we have better prospects coming up at RD

Some observations over the first 4 games:
OMW it is so nice to have defensive depth, 3 NHL defensemen on the mend (Montour, Bogosian and Pilut) and we still have solid 6 D-men.
We all presumed the team had too much RHD depth but how about the way Scandella is playing. He has been on the ice for only 1 opponent’s goal over the last 2 games. Dahlin is leading all NHL defensemen with 7 pts (in just 4 games) and pts/60 at 5.6. Larsson continues to hit anything in the wrong uniform, and we have Gilmour in the PB and Pilut on IR.
But to the point on hand, while Jokiharju is playing well, still needs more coaching and Scandella is erasing many of his errors. Since he does not need to clear waivers, when Montour returns, Henri will join Tage in Rochester.

Come on, I really hate having so many good young players...Thompson should be top RW on 2nd line, he would probably at least have a couple points by now because Subotka is kind of useless.

But the D depth is great, I really don't like BOGO that much, as a player, so hope we can trade him with retained salary to someone who needs RD depth. Ex. WPG. Scandella could end up pulling a good amount of value to a LD lacking playoff team at the deadline...Pilot needs a NHL roster spot and we can't get rid of Dahlin. Dahlin offensively is amazing, but defensively he hasn't been amazing yet. McCabe is the best LD on the team for 5-5. RD...biggest surprise is Ristolainen he is playing like a top 25 right D right now.
