What is the Mind?

Physical object or Non-physical entity like a soul? Something else?

Sens won't do this. Puts them at 50/50 contracts, and they don't have room for either player anyway. Looking for pure futures (ie picks) for Pager imo. Get a little more breathing room with 48 contracts to get a little more creative with deals later in the season.

You should quit your job and become a philosopher

Perlini might be a good piece for the sens future, what If I took out Koekkoek and added in a 3rd or 4th rounder? I imagine the sens will be selling a lot of expiring assets off at the deadline this year, and even if the trade did go through as it currently stands there no reason you would need to offer Koekkoek a contract next offseason.

Perlini might be a bet worth taking but the sens have so many guys internally who can fill a Perlini type role, (Balcers, Formenton, Abramov) I just don't see it really being worthwhile. Rather just have a 2nd/3rd or whatever. Less fuss for Ottawa.

After the Blackhawks, the Senators are my second favourite club. Always like Pageau’s grit. Good wheels, great defender, kills penalties and can score. Has had big games in the post season. In the final year of his contract, so it is reasonable Ottawa will move him at the trading deadline. Pageau will be the kind of asset teams will want making a deep run into the playoffs.

Pageau would help the Hawks, especially the penalty kill, but I think Ottawa would demand more and there will be clubs buying for Pageau services. In this deal, I like Ottawa, to take a chance on Koekkoek. I like what Koekkoek has brought to the club. At age 25, there is still a window where he could play regularly, particularly on a team as woefully as the Senators. Given the rebuild, Ottawa will demand a draft pick or a high end prospect as well.

As for Perlini, it seems to me, Ottawa already has plenty of that caliber of player, and would pass. I hope the Hawks can give Perlini every opportunity to develop beyond a fourth liner, and he takes advantage of it. I like his wheels and he can score. He just needs to be consistent and raise his value.
